Barnaby Jackson began his career developing the Academy Award wining Showscan motion picture camera system, and has continued to develop new technologies and advanced media solutions ever since.
Jackson developed and directed an IMAX film for Intel that included a virtual reality sequence, and computer generated images to simulate the microscopic layers of the pentium processor.
For Sony he designed and directed short films for the SDDS eight channel sound system that played in thousands of theaters. These were the first filmed sequences that were printed using digital intermediates for wide release.
Jackson has designed and directed ride-films, including Bruce Brown's "Endless Summer: The Ride." These immersive, experiential films utilize moving seats and wide screen projection to connect the audience to the action.
Jackson designed a real-time HD virtual set system that allowed actors to be composited into computer generated worlds in real-time. This is like placing actors into a computer-game world, and experiencing that world as it happens. |
